Week 1; Rules for blogging ; 13-17.09 2010

1. Please, no last names, school names or addresses.

2. Do not link to your personal blog/journal from your school blog; you might reveal information on there that you don't want to reveal on your school blog.

3. If you want to write your opinion on a topic, make sure you're not going to be offensive to anyone as you write it.

4. Always make sure you check over your post for spelling errors, grammar errors, and your use of words.

5. Never disrespect someone else in your blog, whether it's a person, an organization, or just a general idea. You don't want someone making a stab at what you are passionate about; don't do it to someone else.

6. Don't write about other people without permission; if you can't get their permission, use first names only. Never share someone elses last name.

7. Watch your language! We're not at home, we are at school, this has to be at least remotely professional looking.

8. Make sure things you write about are factual. Don't be posting about things that aren't true.

9. Keep it education-oriented. That means that you probably shouldn't discuss your plans for the weekend.

In my opinion the best way to learn english is by speaking the language with other students in class, but i also think that a professional english teacher is a good way to learn english and watching TV and movies in english is also a good way to learn this language.

I think that at our school we have a lot of opportunities .We have a professional English teacher and also a native one.

Besides your good ways to learn English I think another good one is to write songs, poems or just to write in English when we have time.

When I was younger I usually wrote three times the new vocabulary from our English lessons and it really worked.

I also consider that a better way to learn a new language is the monolingual dictionary than the bilingual one, because if we read in that language we will broaden our vocabulary.

And the best way to learn English(even if it hurts me to say it)are the tests, because when we, at least I, see red on a mistake we can memorize it faster and believe me, we won't do it again!

    Me opinion is:
    -should not always use a bilingual dictionary;
    -should not always speak with students or classmates in English;
    -
and do not think it would be better to have a blog or compulsory class, but would be more fun, because we can post funny and interesting things that happen in class.

I think that a good way to learn English is to read books in English.

At school , we have a advantage , because we learn English with a professional English teacher , and a native one who had numerous and attractive ways to teach English.

Another way to learn English is to speak in English with other students on the internet. Is a way to learn new words , and to make new friends.

A nice way to learn English is to listen to songs in English , and sing the lyrics.

I think the best way to learn English is listening to music, watching TV and reading books in English, but also speaking English in class, doing exercices and writing.
Even we don't like tests, they can help us to learn English better and faster.
We can learn English from a native speaker.
If we don't know words in English we can use a bilingual dictionary, or if we want the definition we can use a monolingual dictionary.

I agree with all, less with “having lots of tests in class”, I’m sure that this is a way to learn English, but my advice is to search the lyrics of the songs that you are listening to, and try to repeat. I do this every day. Is very funny and usefully, too. Try to do this when you are alone!

You can also try to read in English, at home. Find a convenient place where you can read. Begin with little stories in English. Keep the dictionary near you. This is also a good way to learn English. I will try to do it often. It’s hart to begin, but then you will cannot stop. You must read your favorite types of books: horror, romance, S.F….Do this and you will see…

Well…what can I say…? my list “how to learn English” is bigger now…

  10. I think a good way to learn English is to learn English with a professional teacher at the school.

Another opportunity would be that of living in a foreign country because you can always listen to other people more easy remember English.

Another option would be that of teaching English with a native speaker of English in class or other somewhere.

One option would be good reason to search words in the dictionary.

I agree with all, except with "having lots of tests in class", I'm sure helps a lot, but there are too many.

You try to listen to music in English, I always do and I help a lot.

You can also write song lyrics or poems. Since I was little written in Romanian and English and I used. Unfortunately I don't have time now.

Certainly a good way to learn is to talk with English speakers on Messenger or Skype.

In conclusion I now even more ways to learn English in my list.

  14. FEEDBACK WEEK 1

    Oana I.-“English “ , not ‘english’ – Good job !

Calina D.- Well-structured and to the point ! Excellent !

Florentina M.- “My “, not “me “. The general idea of your post is pretty hard to get , so , be more careful about the choice of words. More than that , we CANNOT post funny and interesting things that happen in class.

Mario C.-Pay attention to capital letters ! Good, anyway !

    Denisa B.- “It is a way “ , not “Is a way”.

    Cosmin C.- Great post !

Georgiana C.- Instead of “Is very funny and usefully” , use “ It is funny and useful” .
    ” Hard” , not ‘hart ‘.- Good job !

Calin C.- “ Homeworks” is not correct . Use only the singular . Pay attention to capital letters ! Good, anyway !

    Mihnea C. – “Easier “ , not “more easy” .Good start !

Malina B.- “ I can “ is never followed by an –ing verb . I can teach, read, and listen to …Pay more attention when you express yourself. Quality matters, not quantity!

Raluca C.- Your post has similar words with Georgiana’s . I would like you to be original !

Adina C.-“ Teachers say “ instead of “ teachers says”. Good job !
